Kid friendly vegan recipes

Vegan recipes for kids are the easiest recipes going and there are plenty of them delicious as well as healthy.

Try these vegetarian dishes on your stubborn kids and they are going to love you for it!

All you need to do is offer them the vegan stuff in newer varieties that they have not tried before- discover new methods of preparation and surprise them! Here are 4 vegan recipes that you must try for your kids.

  1. Quinoa-Almond Burger

Make these protein-rich vegan burgers mixing quinoa with uncooked almonds. The kids will love these served with avocado, sliced.


Ingredients you will need:

  •       2 cups of raw almonds
  •       1 1/2 cups cooked and cooled quinoa
  •       1 small clove of garlic, cut
  •       2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar
  •       1 tablespoon tamari
  •       1/2 teaspoon of dried rosemary
  •       1 1/2 tablespoons of tomato ketchup
  •       1/4 teaspoon of sea salt
  •       3/4 cup sliced green onions
  •       1/2 cup chopped sun dried tomatoes


Add the almonds, garlic, vinegar, tamari, ketchup, rosemary and salt into a food processor. Puree the mix till the nuts become a bit sticky. Add the chopped green onions and the sun-dried tomatoes, and beat until the mixture starts to hold. Next add the quinoa and beat until well combined. Remove the mix and shape it into about 6 patties. Finally cook them on a non-stick skillet 5 to 6 minutes each side over medium heat.

  1. Chickpea Bites

Your kids are sure to love gnashing these delicious chickpeas straight out of your oven, or even cooled for snacks or lunch!

Ingredients you will need:

  •       2 cans of chickpeas
  •       1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar
  •       1 tablespoon of tamari
  •       2 to 2 1/2 tablespoons of ketchup


Firstly preheat the oven to 400°F/205°C. Mix all the ingredients together and keep on the baking sheet that has been lined using parchment paper. Bake the mixture for 20 to 25 minutes, tossing the chickpeas a couple of times while baking, until the sauce is absorbed by the chickpeas but they are still fairly tender.

  1. Sweet Nut Butter Dip

Take your desired nut butter to make this buttery, slightly sweet vegan dip in a jiffy! Kids would love this as a dipping with fruit, or simply as pudding.


Ingredients you will need:

  •       1/2 cup nut butter (cashew/peanut, or other)
  •       2/3 cup non-dairy yogurt
  •       2 teaspoons of pure maple or agave syrup
  •       1/8 teaspoon of sea salt
  •       1/8 teaspoon of cinnamon


It is a simple method- just add all the ingredients into a food processor and pulp until smooth, or just whisk them in a medium bowl using your hand, until smooth.

  1. Simply Delicious Tzatziki Dip

This amazingly simple recipe is a hit with kids of all ages! In a medium bowl, add finely chopped cucumber and plain non-dairy yogurt and stir well. Also stir in fresh dill, finely chopped along with chives and salt and pepper to taste. Serve along with torn whole-wheat pita, stripped pepper, carrot and celery sticks. . Tzatziki will remain good for a minimum of two days when covered and refrigerated.
