Recently, leading research firm Mintel revealed that Americans have evolved into heavy between meal snackers – 94 percent once a day, 50 percent two or three times a day.  They also indicated that Americans claim they want to eat healthier snacks, but actually only 1/3 eat healthier foods.  Their insight is inconsistent with NPD Group’s annual Eating Patterns in America Report that listed fruit and vegetables as the second and third leading foods in an American diet.  Nielsen in their recent 30 day tracking report listed fruit in fifth place out the top six snacks consumed by North Americans.

Another respected source CSPnet.com indicated that the heaviest snacking daypart was Mid-Afternoon (71%), followed by Late-Night (40%) and Mid-Evening (39%).  They also cited by demographic, Late-Afternoon was peak snacking time for Millennials.  Regardless of what time of day, our own Executive Chef Steven Tedesco has developed a line of premium plant-based vegan baked goods (brownies, blondies and cookies).  Decadently delicious!  All our great products are now available online http://spankyskitchen.com/shop/.  Check out our store and stop on buy!
